Workshop 2026: A weekend as a 19th century photographer

You know the weight of a historic camera in your hand, the smell of old leather and brass, the mechanical precision of past centuries. But have you ever experienced what these masterpieces were really built for?

We invite you to turn back time. On this exclusive weekend, you will immerse yourself in the world of wet plate photography (wet plate collodion) and discover another historic printing technique, the cyanotype.

In a small group, we guarantee an intensive and personalised practical experience.

What you can expect

  • Ambrotype on glass (18×24 cm) - from coating the glass plate with collodion to exposing with the large-format camera and developing in the darkroom. History becomes tangible when the image is created before your eyes.
  • Paper print with selenium toner - Experience the classic transformation from negative to timeless, warm-toned unique print.
  • Cyanotype - Get to know the charming simplicity of this historic printing process. You can create a negative from a photo you bring with you (digitally) or choose a motif on site.
