Newsletter January 2026

Dear members,

The January issue of Club Daguerre aktuell is online.
This article is the central entry point to our January newsletter - all articles in this issue can be accessed directly via the following headings.

Editorial January 2026
Preserve or start anew?
The start of the year is more than just a calendar entry. The editorial is about the balance between personal encounters and new digital paths, the Club's self-image and the question of what we should consciously hold on to, especially when many things are changing.

Efka and Futura - a reference work in the Edition Club Daguerre
With "Efka and Futura - Products and Company History" by Wolfgang Huller, a fundamental work on the history of the Futura camera factory in Freiburg has been published by Edition Club Daguerre. The systematic classification of serial numbers, equipment details, lenses and accessories provides a reliable basis for categorising these cameras for the first time. The publication in the Edition Club Daguerre makes this complete work permanently accessible and specifically usable.

Edition Club Daguerre - launch of our digital book archive
Brand new: The Edition Club Daguerre has been launched.
The publication of the first two digital books on the topics of Futura and Vredeborch marks the start of a new chapter in our digital preservation work. Out-of-print specialised literature is becoming accessible again - not just as PDFs, but with modern full-text search and targeted research. Further works are already in preparation and will follow.

Virtual get-together for members - a new format being trialled
Not a lecture. Not a webinar. Just a conversation.
A new attempt to enable dialogue from a distance. Harald Goergens opens the first virtual regulars' table with background information on Vredeborch - including stories that were never printed. Open, dialogue-based, with room for questions, contradictions and digressions.

Super-8 for modern people - The Instax Mini Evo Cinema
Cinema without film, nostalgia without work.
A feuilletonistic look at Fujifilm's latest retro promise: Super-8 as a look, not as technology - carefully digitised, emotionally charged and perfect for the sideboard. A contemporary document of our present.

29 March 2026: Photo market at the 3F Museum - an ideal Sunday outing
Photo market, museum, advice and value checks - a classic collector's Sunday with short distances.

First photo fair in northern Hesse and southern Lower Saxony
After around 30 years, a regional platform for analogue photographic technology, personal discussions and professional exchange.

Events February / March 2026
Photo fairs, collectors' meetings, exhibitions and international photography events in Germany and Switzerland.
