Members’ meeting 28–30 August 2026 in Mannheim
Our annual meeting is taking place under the theme ‘100 Years of Zeiss-Ikon’. A particular highlight will be a talk by our honorary member Hartmut Thiele on the early history of Zeiss Ikon AG – how and why it came about,
the hostile takeovers, and the role of Carl Zeiss Jena and Deutsche Bank.
Mannheim in August, the 3F Museum in Deidesheim, Palatinate wine and a charity auction to raise funds for the club: this year, everything comes together particularly well. The registration deadline is fast approaching!
For photography historians, a visit to the 3F Museum is a must in any case; the fact that it is opening its library and archives exclusively to members of Club Daguerre makes it all the more appealing. Added to this is the Technoseum in Mannheim, which, with its media exhibition and a working Welte cinema organ, will not disappoint even the most tech-savvy among us. A weekend that pleasantly combines photographic history, technological culture and socialising, all in a city that’s well worth a visit even for those accompanying you.
