100 years of Zeiss-Ikon - leitmotif of the annual meeting

At its last meeting, the Club Daguerre board decided to organise our 2026 general meeting under a common theme: 100 years of Zeiss Ikon. The other milestone anniversaries of the year resonate as a background chord: 180 years of Carl Zeiss, 150 years of Heinrich Ernemann in Dresden, 140 years of C. P. Goerz, 90 years of Contax II and Olympia-Sonnar. But the 1926 merger is the centrepiece.

We will weave this leitmotif into the entire weekend, and at one point we would like to actively involve you: Please bring your favourite Zeiss-Ikon cameras with you. For two reasons.

Firstly, we will set up a small, spontaneous members' exhibition of the treasures you bring with you in the conference hall: Everyone shows what they have and like. Secondly, Deidesheim, a destination rich in photographic motifs, invites you to step into the picture with the right camera. What could be more natural than to have your favourite icon of the German photography industry photographed once again?

To enable us to plan the exhibition properly, our managing director will be sending out a short questionnaire in the coming weeks. Please let us know what you would like to bring along and what the plenum can look forward to.

We have also prepared a small gift for you to mark the anniversary. It bears the Zeiss-Ikon logo and will not be placed in the display case but on the breakfast table. More details are yet to be revealed.
